
Meet Dr Soon Lau
Dr Soon Lau is a specialist Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreaticobiliary and General Surgeon based in Canberra, ACT. He has expertise in benign and malignant diseases of the gallbladder, pancreas, liver, stomach and oesophagus and offers a full range of surgical treatments for these conditions including laparoscopic (keyhole) approaches and endoscopy. Soon also undertakes surgery for hernias, gallstones and performs endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy).

Education and Training
Dr Soon Lau graduated from medical school at the University of New South Wales with first class honours before undertaking General Surgery Training at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals in Sydney leading to a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He then pursued subspecialty training in Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreaticobiliary Surgery by completing the Australian and Aotearoa Hepatio-Pancreatico-Biliary Association Fellowship program, and gained expertise in Liver Transplantation at the highest volume liver transplant unit in Australia.
